How does Inland Revenue calculate payments on account?

Answer:

Inland Revenue takes the amount of taxes that you were liable for in the current year and divides them in half. The first half of the taxes for next year will be due on January 31 and the second half will be due in July. This means you will have all your taxes for next year paid in advance.
